What We Leave Behind

Each of the six block prints in What We Leave Behind preserve a memory, or lack thereof, of my grandparents and great grandmothers from childhood, which remain present with me beyond the limitations of time and existence. I utilize pattern to craft a feeling of comfort to mimic a sense of remembrance and love. The permanence of the ink medium mirrors the nature of my memories that I wish to keep alive. The prints function as a reminder for me to appreciate the time I have left with those I love.
